warrantyDUAL / UNITED AUDIO 1228 FULLY AUTOMATIC STEREO IDLER WHEEL DRIVE TURNTABLE MADE IN WEST GERMANY Circa 1973-74 for sale We have just had the table completely gone through by CBS turntable services cleaning inside and out, lubricating mechanism, reconditioned all rubber parts including the idler wheel. They also restored auto return mechanism, removed original RCA input jacks (broken PC board, and jacks) and installed new patch cables, placed additional ground cable to reduce hum over original design, adjusted and cleaned internal "turn on / off" switch, burnished and re-sprung head shell cartridge carrier contacts, extensively adjusted several mechanical points throughout internal arm mechanism, re-set "lead-in & lead-out" tone arm adjustment and test played. Unit was also installed into an upgraded, but original period Dual walnut wood case. Speed checked and adjusted for accuracy both with built-in strobe control and a test strobe disc. Gimbal bearing, counter weight and anti-skating all adjusted and verified for accuracy. Plinth suspension all functioning. All changer, start and stop mechanisms adjusted and tested. All functions work great! Original dust cover has a few stress cracks / spiders, and other "battle scars", but is structurally sound and just had fresh buff by CBS and looks decent as does the originally optional full case / cabinet. CBS also re-installed and optimized the existing Shure, M44G Elliptical diamond, magnetic cartridge and optimized the table for it. (If you prefer an up-grade you may also choose from our selection of new Audio Technica cartridges that we can also set up and ship with it for the additional cartridge cost.) You can readily connect this table to any receiver, Integrated amplifier with a standard magnetic phono input, or a Pre-amp. To connect to computer for burning CD's just order one of our inexpensive Phono Pre-Amps and cable kits. Again, this table looks near new and works great!! Speed checked and verified for accuracy. Gimbal bearing, counter weight and anti-skating all adjusted and verified for accuracy. Stop mechanism adjusted and tested. All functions work great! Original dust cover just had fresh buff by CBS, and with the exception of a couple of "burns" on the top of the dust cover, that could not be buffed out, looks great! Both Hinges function fine. Replacement Anti-Static mat installed. CBS also installed and adjusted a brand new Audio-Technica, "Green", Audio-Technica, AT-71ELCOT Elliptical diamond stylus, magnetic cartridge and optimized the tone arm for it. warrantySONY PS-X55 FULLY-AUTOMATIC DIRECT DRIVE TURNTABLE MADE IN JAPAN Circa 1981-84 for sale We have just had the table completely gone through by CBS turntable services cleaning inside and out, lubricating mechanism, adjusting tone arm lead in / out / tracking accuracy with our factory test vinyl and testing performance. Speed checked and verified for accuracy. Gimbal bearing, counter weight and anti-skating all adjusted and verified for accuracy. Stop mechanism adjusted and tested. All functions work great! Only, issue is that the dust-cover hinges, while there, have had a fairly "ugly" repair to them that didn't "take" so the cover will not stay in the "Up" position (see lower right set of photos). Original dust cover still very good condition with only normal, minor wear. No cracks, chips or breaks. Just had fresh buff by CBS. It looks great! CBS also re-installed, the existing Audio-Technica AT-72E "Blue" Elliptical diamond stylus, magnetic cartridge and optimized the tone arm for it.
