Peavey "Classic 30", Class-A, tube guitar amp.
These are incredible
sounding and performing amps.
I was a dealer for new guitar amps for a number of years, including these
and was generally not impressed by much built in the past 30 years. The
Peavey "Classic" line was an exception. Working at a music store had a
fringe benefit of being able to borrow about any piece of gear we needed for
any gig. Our "demo" Classic 30 was always making appearances at parties,
gigs, sessions and open mic for just about every guitar player that worked
there. They are about the most "utility" guitar amp we've ever heard. I
actually got to hear the "proto-type" Classic 30 before it went to
production. I was at a Peavey for a week, doing a tour and went to a club
that featured the "Peavey" band / open mic. On stage was a painfully loud
band with huge, mic'd drum kit, Rhythm guitar and bass stacks, taller than
the players, and another guitar player playing a tweed color, 12" combo on
top of a single tweed color 12" extension speaker. That little 30 watt rig
had no problem holding it's own with everything else on stage. All us Peavey
visitors were blown away and wanted to know about the amp. The player was
from engineering and said it was not a production model...yet. Everyone on
the tour was pleading with them to put it into production and wanted to
place orders right then. That was about 2 years before it actually came out.
The extension speaker followed about a year later than that. I thought it
was one of the coolest amps I had ever heard and at the time I owned a '55
Bassman, a '67 Super Reverb, Boogie "SOB" and an '81 JCM-800 combo (yes
all the amps were originals. No RI's!). This is the second version of
the amp, when they changed from the tweed color vinyl to the black (similar
to vintage Ampeg amp finishes) and the Blue Marvel speaker, but before the
logo "dip" in the cabinet. It has all Russian made, Sovtek output tubes (4x
EL-84) for the Class-A section. The 3 pre-amp / Reverb tubes are all
12AX7 (unknown brands). We can install 3 vintage RCA's for an extra $75
up-charge prior to shipping and you can keep the existing 3 as spares.

"mini" size reverb tanks. That is why most folks have thought spring reverb
sounds terrible since then. This one uses an "old-school", full size tank.

"bathtub" reverb, controlled feedback & vocal doubling. Delay time varies from only 15msec to 400 m-sec. All original and is AC

through it checking for loose connections, cleaning controls internally,
checking power supply filter caps, installing a new AC cord and fully

This is the second one of these we've had
in 10 years. It's a Guild / Binson TF3, Echorec drum delay. It's all there,
but needs work. Here's what we know. When we first powered the unit up
slowly on our Vari-Ac, it started climbing in current to almost 3 amps by
the time we approached 60 volts. The motor would not turn at almost 60
volts. I disconnected the motor and brought it up on the Vari-AC by itself
with similar results. I tried to spin the motor with my fingers, and it
started turning, but had a lot of "un-lubricated" bearing noise. I then
lightly and superficially, lubed the motor and at 60 volts it ran pretty
well, but still had a lot of current draw, almost 3 amps. The motor
windings, while they don't smell bad, are very dark so I'm guessing the
motor needs to be re-wound, repaired or replaced. Other than the shape of
the axel it's a standard AC motor that's used in most motor driven devices.
Should be able to interchange the armature with another motor. The
electrolytic caps seemed to be holding charge fine. I didn't see any other
burnt or problematic parts. The heads are all there, but I don't know their
condition. The original rubber pinch roller / idler wheel is there as well,
and in decent condition, but should probably be rebuilt. The original
plastic head / drum cover is still intact. Again, this is a project that
will need to be restored as it's 40 years old. These are highly sought after
delays. We had a Binson Echorec 2 about 8 years ago that was in about the
same shape, maybe worse and it brought $950 then. One more time, this unit

One of the classic all
tube combo guitar amps. These are great amps for guitar or harmonica!
We have had this amp for a couple of years and just now
got around to it's restoration. The inside tube chart sticker is missing on the inside of the cabinet,
so we aren't able to define it's year, but is likely early to
1970's. Features all tube construction and the sought after point-to-point /
oil-board internal wiring & construction. We have completely gone
through it, checking all filter caps, checking all tubes and replacing
where necessary. All control pots have been cleaned and all functions
tested. We installed a new Fender Handle, new Fender
amp straps, new Fender knobs and a new pilot lamp. We checked all the
internal solder joints for integrity. All tubes are US made
or British and are as follows: GE 5Y3GT tube rectifier,
British Raytheon 6V6G output
tube & Dual USA RCA 12AX7's
for the Pre-amp and tremolo. The 4 ohm

speaker is in great shape. Other features
include foot switch-able Reverb & Vibrato (foot
switch not included) Both original back panels
still intact. Front of amp has original grill cloth, control panel and
knobs. All in good shape, but a lot of scuffing to the
face plate. Amp is
covered in the original black Tolex which is also in great shape with only
the most minor wear to one corner. Also includes the original grounded (3-prong) AC cord
installed from the factory. The amp looks beautiful,
works and sounds great. We have had a lot of these
over the years and this one has great "bite" starting around 4 on the volume
with hum-buckers. About 5 with singles. With higher output
pick-ups it has great gain. This
amp was originally sold by Quigley Music in Kansas City, Mo. Measures

"Living room" example! Very sought after by guitar players! The "45" is the short model
so it's a bit easier to haul to gigs and fit on the truck. Still has the
full 15", rotation bottom-end driver for bass and the rotating horn.
Beautiful Mahogany cabinet in Cherry finish (cherry
color was difficult to depict in photos, but it is a nice Rose wine color
Cherry, not yellowish Mahogany or brownish Mahogany as the photos lean
to). Wood work and finish in exceptional condition. Both drivers are the original "Special Design" Jensens.
The woofer is a AlNiCo magnet, P15LL and is in NEW condition. Tube amp
features dual 6550 outputs for approx 45 watts, an OC3 rectifier and a
12AU7 pre-driver. All existing tubes are US made RCA's
and all test wonderfully. Entire unit has been
cleaned inside and out, top to bottom. We have
completely gone through the amplifier on this checking & / or
replacing the electrolytic caps (replaced 1), checking all tubes,
replaced both upper and lower belts, removed, cleaned
and re-lubed both upper and lower motors, cleaning / re-lubing
the controls and testing / running continuously for 4 hours. Unit runs and sounds great! Also
with the exception of only very minor wear it looks incredible. Beautiful
Mahogany cabinet. Even better in real life than in the photos. Very solid
construction. No missing parts and ready to use! (you
may need to adapt it to your particular organ or Leslie kit) Take it on the road, put

Great sounding, incredible condition and ORIGINAL, Dallas
Arbiter "Fuzz-Face", Distortion pedal. This is an original late '60's-erly
'70 one in the rarer red. This is not one of the recent re-issues.
With the exception of the battery holder, the bottom plate attachment screw
and the rubber feet, all the parts are original. Unfortunately the bottom
plate sticker is long gone and the lower half of the rubber pad surround the
"Dallas Arbiter - England" is torn away. This material is still available,
but not included. Utilizes 9-V battery. Pedal is
excellent shape for being ~35
years old. We went
through it, cleaning the controls, jacks and switches.
All functions tested fine. No battery compartment corrosion past
or present. All original knobs still intact. Both jacks,
both undersides of the knobs and the "stomp" switch marked "Bulgin England".
Transistors marked "TFK or 1FK BC 108 C" Germanium 's.
Pedal works and sounds great!

married with an Speedster or Tone King Guitar Amplifier. Load with your
favorite 12" drivers. Cabinets are in good condition with normal
finish checking. The Oak Wood grain varies slightly one from the other,
but this is hard to notice unless you look very closely. The cloth grills
are in good shape with only minimal snags. There are also a couple of
tweeters already installed if you're interested. Could be used with
existing Masonite back, left open or have back replaced with another. The
bottoms of the cabinets are currently open. The tapered legs unscrew if
needed. Each measures 28" tall x 18" wide x 14" deep and
weigh 21 lbs unloaded and unpacked.

Marshall JCM-800 / 4010 all tube guitar amp. This is an incredible
sounding and performing amp. Everything from decently clean, to "bitey"
blues to that famous Marshall crunch. This is an amp you play, not just
play through! There aren't many amps you can say that about. Controls
are Pre gain, Master volume, Bass, Mid, Treb and Presence. Has vertical
inputs with both Hi and Lo level jacks. Output is selectable for 4, 8 or
16 ohm loads. AC input voltage is "World AC Power" as it will
run on 120-240 volts. Dual 6550 outputs and 12AX7 pre-amp tubes for
50 watts of output power. Internal speaker is a Rola / Celestion 12-65 for
great tone. I tried it with a generic 4 x 12 cab and am not sure I don't
like the tone and drive of the internal speaker just as well, if not
better. Amp is in great shape with little cosmetic wear. Measures 23"
w x 20" tall x 10" deep and weighs 51 lbs unpacked.

Circa 1968 to early '70's.
for sale
One of the 2 or 3 most sought after bass guitar amplifiers, The Acoustic 360
/ 361 rig. This thing ROCKS! I see why everyone is so hot on it. I have been
a dealer for most of the great bass amp companies over the years, Trace
Elliot, Peavey, Fender, Roland, Yamaha, Ampeg, SWR and many I've forgotten
and this is in the top 3-4 best performing bass amp combos, I've auditioned.
Huge volume that "hold together". The folded horn design of the
speaker cab, I think is the secret. It really develops huge, pounding bass
about 35 feet out front (watch out if you're unfortunate enough to be
sitting in the 3rd or 4th row listening to this thing). One of the coolest
features about this amp is the "Variamp" EQ preset control. Easily allows an
almost infinite variety of useable tones. Of course there's the famous
"FUZZ"! Can you say Sly and the Family Stone? There's also the silly "Tuning
Fork" feature. Other than the original Tolex / vinyl covering being stripped
from the speaker cabinet and it then being painted black, it's all there. We
have done a couple of minor mods on it. Since the original, 18" Cerwin Vega
internal speaker is already 4 ohms, and there's no power switch for the
internal 361 power amp, we removed the "Output" / Extension speaker jack and
installed a heavy duty AC power switch for the amplifier. We also upgraded
the internal 18g "zip wire" speaker wire to 12 gauge / 256 strand, oxygen
free "Monster" brand speaker cable. We also added an inline fuse holder to
protect the speaker, currently loaded with a 4 amp fuse. We have completely
gone through the Head / Pre-amp, cleaning the entire unit inside and out,
including all the switches and control pots. All I/O jacks cleaned and
tightened. We installed a new AC cord and grommet on the back of the speaker
cabinet and both AC cords are 3-prong, grounded. The Cabinet has been
disassembled for the installation of the Monster Cable to the Original
Cerwin Vega #0188, Cast frame, 18" speaker. The Tolex on the head is in
great shape and we touched up the flat black finish on the cab. Both cab
handles and tilt-back wheels intact and work fine. The Pre-Amp head has 4
line-level outputs for driving other amps in addition to this one. It also
features a jack for a foot switch (not included). All knobs and hardware is
original! Again this is a great performer. We powered it up and left it on
for 4-6 hours at a time, quite a few times, included a lot of play time,
after we did the refurb work. It's ready to go!
Head measures 24.5" w
x 6.5" tall x 12" deep
and weighs 20 lbs unpacked. The
cabinet measures 49" tall x 24.5" w x 18" deep and weighs 143 lbs unpacked.

amp knobs. They will also fit almost all other Fender amps from that era,

Twin-Reverb, Super Reverb, etc. Just about any "black-face". They are used
originals, with normal wear. Still have the set screws
intact.
