The JVC model 3240, "Videosphere" or "Space Helmet" television. These are a must have for any retro room. While this one looks pretty good, it doesn't function. The white plastic has some "yellowing". The antenna has a small "kink" in it, but still retracts and swivels. All the original knobs and the carry chain is intact and corrosion free. The front lens is in great shape and free of cracks and deep scuffs. Selling for restoration or parts. As-Is for repair, parts / prop / display use Cosmetic Cond. 8.5 $229. JVC MODEL 3241 "VIDEOSPHERE" TV FOR SALE One of the classic icons of the early 70's. The JVC Videosphere "Space Helmet" television. These are a must have for any retro room. Unfortunately this one is a bit cosmetically challenged. The visor is cracked and scuffed and the antenna is missing. There are also a couple of the time set knobs missing from the clock. While TV does work reasonably well, it should be serviced if anyone actually wants to use it (although photos were not "sync'd" up with the screen, the entire screen does actually work and show the signal. The camera just shuttered too quick to show the entire video field). Minor crack in the upper right corner that doesn't effect performance. (see photos above) Original swivel, telescopic antenna is intact, but top 2 segments pull completely out. Measure 9" tall x 13.5" wide x 11" deep and weighs 13 lbs. unpacked. Plays Beta II & Beta III speeds. We have gone through this unit, cleaning inside and out, including the heads and transport. Loads & ejects fine. Plays, FF & Rew well. We did not test for Record as most Beta machines are sought after for archiving tapes to a different format. We reconditioned the rubber pinch roller and other internal belts. We checked all heads / tape path for azimuth, adjusting where necessary. We also de-magnetized the heads and entire transport. Fixed the typical "sluggishness" of 20+ year old VCR's FF and Rew, by installing a new main belt. Rewinds well when started from the end of the tape, which is where you would usually rewind anyway. All lamps and displays function fine. RCA & "F" connector video & audio I / O's. This is a good machine for watching your old Beta tapes and doing transfers / transferring your Beta Tapes to DVD, VHS, Hard-Drive or other format. Ready to go. We have tested the load and transport functions. Loads, Ejects, FF & Rew fine. While it does play back the video aspects fine, the sound is very low and muffled. We were not able to easily rectify this. Also it does record, but has distortion in the image. We also de-magnetized the heads and entire transport. Fixed the typical "sluggishness" of 20+ year old VCR's FF and Rew. All lamps and displays function fine. Tracking adjustment.All the mechanics seem to work fine. We don't have the resources to pursue it any further, than just the basic bench check we've done. Selling for parts. As-Is. SANYO 4400 II fixer upper / As-is $55. We have completely gone through this unit, cleaning inside and out, including the heads and transport. Loads & ejects fine. Plays well with an occasional split second "glitch" every 45-60 seconds or so. Depends on tape quality and tracking adjustment. We did not test for Record as most Beta machines are sought after for archiving tapes to a different format. We reconditioned the rubber pinch roller and replaced the internal belts. We checked all heads / tape path for azimuth, adjusting where necessary. We also de-magnetized the heads and entire transport. Fixed the typical "sluggishness" of 20+ year old VCR's FF and Rew, except that it is still a bit "sluggish" when starting Rewind near the beginning of the tape. Rewinds well when started from the end of the tape, which is where you would usually rewind anyway. All lamps and displays function fine. We also checked for excessive Wow & Flutter in the sound. The replaced and reconditioned rubber took care of any issues there. We also de-magnetized the heads and entire transport. Fixed the typical "sluggishness" of 20+ year old VCR's FF and Rew. All lamps and displays function fine. Will play mono or stereo tapes in mono fine. Plays & records Beta II & III speeds in mono sound. Tracking adjustment. This is a great machine for watching you old Beta tapes and doing transfers / transferring your Beta Tapes to DVD, VHS, Hard-Drive or other format. Ready to go. AC / DC powered. Works with AC power supply (included). DC powered by 6x standard AA batteries or internal rechargeable battery pack. Rechargeable battery pack is included, but likely will need to be replaced to use, but have not been tested / charged. Unit has ID info engraved in top of plastic housing (see photos). Built-in telescopic antenna in perfect condition as is the original case. TV and Radio works great! Still has the original warranty "hang tag" on the case strap. No major cracks, chips or dings. This was Sony's first US market VCR! Cosmetically near new, with original box and most packing. Unfortunately it is very distorted on playback. All the mechanics seem to work fine. We don't have the resources to pursue it any further, than just the basic bench check we've done. Measures 21" wide x 16" deep x 8.5" high and weighs 45 lbs unpacked. AS-IS SONY SL-7200 SOLD 1/23/06 Shipped to the U.K.	(click on above thumbnails to enlarge photos) warranty SONY MODEL SL-8200 BETA BETAMAX SOLD 1/16/07 VCR Circa 1978 for sale Vintage 1978, Top-Loading, Dual-speed, Sony SL-8200 Beta VCR. This was Sony's first 2-speed VCR! Cosmetically near new condition. Great looking "Top Loader". We have changed most belts and re-conditioned the rest. Internally cleaned and re-lubed. We also cleaned the video and audio heads and adjusted azimuth on the audio heads. Tested for loading, eject, FF, Rew and Playback. The only issue is the power switch button is missing, so you must either keep the power button on, or use something like an ink pen to push it in or out. We did not at this point test for recording, as the machine will most likely be used for transferring your tapes to DVD or Hard Drive. Comes with channel 3 plug-in module. Only cosmetic issues are the unit is missing the right side plastic cover for the programming buttons and it has a sticker across the top of the face plate from the factory that is peeling and scuffed (all cosmetics).
