have just had the table completely gone through by CBS turntable
services cleaning inside and out, lubricating mechanism, replacing drive
belt, tone arm height adjustment and test
playing with our factory test vinyl.
Lead-In / Lead-Out adjusted as well as Start / Return
mechanism. Speed
checked and adjusted for accuracy with factory
test strobe disc. Gimbal bearing, counter weight and anti-skating all
adjusted and verified for accuracy. All stop mechanisms adjusted and
tested. All functions work great! Original
dust cover just
had fresh buff by CBS and while is does have one
large crack and a few other "battle scars", it is completely serviceable
and looks decent!
A new felt, "anti-static" platter mat was installed.
CBS also installed and adjusted a brand new
Audio-Technica, AT-301ELPOT,
Elliptically
cut Diamond stylus, magnetic
cartridge and optimized the tone arm for it.
(If you prefer an up-grade you may also choose from our
selection of new Audio Technica cartridges that we can also set up and
ship with it for the additional cartridge cost.) You can readily
connect this table to any receiver, Integrated amplifier with a standard

exception of the dust cover, this Thorens TD-190 is in LIKE NEW
CONDITION. We've not had many Thorens come
through in the past 13 years, I think this is about the 5th or 6th and
never a modern model that played 78's!* These are very

We have just completely

out, lubricating mechanism, adjusting tone arm and testing performance.
Speed checked and verified for accuracy with both internal strobe and
the shop calibrated strobe disc. Super quality Gimbal tone-arm bearing,
counter weight and anti-skating all adjusted and verified for accuracy.
Stop mechanism adjusted and tested. All functions work great!
Original dust cover just
had fresh buff, and looks near decently good, with
light scuffing! One hinge tab partially
broken, but dust cover still functions
fine (see photos above).
Only cosmetic issue with the table is some finish wear to the corners of
the plinth where the dust cover rests. All four original 'shock
absorber' feet intact. Original rubber platter mat, lays
perfectly flat with no bubbles. We also
re-installed and optimized the Shure M95E and
installed a brand new, elliptically cut diamond stylus, on
the, standard 1/2" mount head
shell. (If you prefer an up-grade you may also choose from
our selection of new Audio Technica cartridges that we can also set up
and ship with it for the additional cartridge cost.) You can readily

functions work great! Only, issue is that the dust-cover hinges, while

other issue with table is that the tone-arm rest is missing it's
'transport' lock, so to move the table to a different location, will
require 'tying' the tone-arm in place with at wire tie (the same as used
to ship it).

Note: The "Changer / Stacker" functions work best when used with
pre 1980's albums due to the
larger center hole diameter of older records.
They also can sometimes work with up to 4 or 5 albums,
but function best
with 3 or less stacked at a time.
Also, for optimum performance, special a special
stylus is required for 78 RPM records. While you will get sound from a
33 / 45 RPM stylus, it is best not to use the same stylus for both 78's
and then for 33 1/3's / 45's.

performance. Motor runs steady. Internal speed pots
adjusted for centered external controls. External pitch pots cleaned for
stable operation. Speed checked and verified for
accuracy with technician's factory test strobe
disc against built-in strobe. Gimbal bearing, counter weight and anti-skating all adjusted and
verified for accuracy.
Tone arm bearing perfectly smooth in operation.
New main drive belt installed for years of
trouble-free service. These Fisher tables are similar to some of the
modern $100-$150 tables available at the "Big Box" stores today. Fairly
"plastic" in construction, in-accurate "Anti-Skate" adjustments and
noisy motors / mechanism. Will play records decently when
connected to "Lo-Fi" systems (not for use in a 'Hi-Fi' quality
system. It's too 'low end'). Original rubber mat had
hardened, so we replaced with a good condition, Marantz mat.
While the original dust cover
does have some hinge stress fractures, they have been "welded" solid and
the entire unit just
had a fresh buff and looks fine.
We also installed and adjusted the existing
conical cut Diamond, magnetic
cartridge and optimized the tone arm for it.

We have just had the table
completely gone through cleaning inside and out, lubricating mechanism,
adjusting tone arm and testing performance. Motor bearings lubricated.
Internal speed centering pots adjusted. Speed selector switch contacts
cleaned internally so motor runs steady. Speed checked and verified for
accuracy with test strobe disc against built-in strobe monitor. Gimbal
bearing, counter weight and anti-skating all adjusted and verified for
accuracy. Tone arm bearing perfectly smooth in operation.
Dust cover just had a medium buff to remove deeper
scratches and gouges and looks presentable. New main drive belt
installed for years of trouble-free service. Original rubber mat, still
supple and flexible with no hardening. We also installed
a brand new
Elliptically cut
Diamond stylus, on the Shure M95EJ magnetic
cartridge and optimized the tone arm for it. (If you prefer an
up-grade you may also choose from our selection of new Audio Technica
cartridges that we can also set up and ship with it for the additional
cartridge cost.) You can readily connect this table to any receiver,
Integrated amplifier with a standard magnetic phono input, or a Pre-amp.
To connect to computer for burning CD's just order one of our

table completely gone through by CBS turntable services
cleaning inside and out, lubricating mechanism,
adjusting tone arm lead in / out / tracking accuracy with our factory
test vinyl and testing performance.
Speed checked and
verified
for accuracy. Gimbal bearing, counter
weight and anti-skating all adjusted and verified for accuracy. Stop mechanism
adjusted and tested. All
functions work great! Only, issue is that the dust-cover hinges, while
there, have had a fairly "ugly" repair to them that didn't
"take" so the cover will not stay in the "Up" position (see lower right set of photos). Original dust cover still
very good condition with only
normal, minor wear. No cracks, chips or breaks.
Just had fresh buff by CBS. It looks great! CBS
also re-installed,
the existing Audio-Technica
AT-72E
