warrantyREALISTIC MODEL TR-883 / 14-946A #...2573 8-TRACK STEREO PLAY / RECORD DECK W/ AUTO STOP AND LOCKING FAST FORWARD! Circa 1978-82 for sale We have completely gone through it cleaning all and adjusting the head azimuth & track cross-talk for optimum performance and the best high-frequency response (not normally expected from 8-track cartridge performance). Entire transport and mechanism has been disassembled, cleaned, re-lubed and de-magnetized. Program change mechanism cleaned and re-lubed for trouble-free program changes. New, main drive belt installed for years of trouble-free service. All original program, meter and record lamps work fine. Heads have been cleaned and de-magnetized and are in great shape. Play, signal path contacts burnished for static-free performance. Capstan cleaned, burnished and re-lubed. Input level and all internal pots cleaned. This machine would be perfect for burning your 8-track collection to CD. Tape speed tested with factory 1kHz test tape for reproduction at 1008Hz or 99.2% accuracy! Only issues is the tape counter has been disabled due to a gear issue. Since 8-Track decks don't have a Rewind capability and since you aren't likely to be recording with this deck, that shouldn't be much of an issue. While this machine is capable of recording well, it does not feature the ability to monitor the audio signal (most 8-tracks don't), and since you have to FF all the way through a track to see how your recording came out, it's not generally practical for recording new tapes! Meters even. Looks ok with normal scuffs / battle scars! Again, other than the tape counter issue, all play functions test and work GREAT! _____________________________ Great quality 8-track cartridge play / record deck. This is a great deck for transferring a large amount of tapes to another media as it has two very important features. Locking Fast Forward and Auto Stop. These features are used to find the beginning of track one without "babysitting" the machine while the tape plays or fast forwards. Trying to do a lot of transfers, as a business without those two features will cost a lot of time / money! It also has variable output level controls to match your input device more correctly. Features include: - Back-lit, analog VU level meters - Concentric L & R Input level controls - Variable output playback level controls on the rear panel for fine tuning levels to your inputs - Electro-Mechanical Eject - Fast Forward - Auto-Stop - Pause - Analog Tape counter in "Real Time" (Minutes and Seconds) - 1/4" microphone input mounted on the front panel - Dual 1/4" Stereo Headphone jack for Stereo or Quad / 4-channel - Rear mounted Front & Rear RCA I/O's Again, have completely gone through it making ready for playback for listening to or burning your collection. warrantySANYO MODEL RD-8010 RD8010 8-TRACK QUADRAPHONIC 4-CHANNEL OR NORMAL 2- CHANNEL STEREO PLAY DECK SOLD 8/28/08 for sale We have completely gone through it cleaning all and adjusting the head azimuth & track cross-talk for optimum performance and the best high-frequency response (not normally expected from 8-track cartridge performance). Deck has clear sounding highs even when using pre-recorded tapes. Heads have been cleaned and entire transport has been de-magnetized. Main drive belt has been replaced for trouble free service. Speed checked afterward for accuracy. Since we also burnish the program track light contacts, they all light and are responsive. Unit works and sounds GREAT! _____________________________ Late 70's playback deck. This Sanyo RD-8010 is well built and very simple to operate. Features: - Auto Sensing 4-channel mode detection - Main Front RCA outputs and additionally there are of course RCA outputs for the rear channels if used in Quadraphonic mode A playback Quadraphonic 4-channel / Stereo 2-Channel 8-track tape deck. Plays both standard stereo tapes and 4-channal Quadraphonic tapes. Features auto sensor for discerning between stereo and Quad tapes. Due to the age, conditions in which many 8-track tapes have been stored in and subjected to and the inherent quality shortcomings of the 8-track cartridge format (ie; case shape tolerances, and pressure pad designs), most tapes will not sound as good as most of today's modern formats and likely not as good as even their original, limited quality sound. |

Deck has incredibly clear sounding highs even when using pre-recorded tapes. Entire transport and mechanism has been cleaned, re-lubed and de-magnetized. Heads have been cleaned and de-magnetized and are in great shape. Play, Signal path contacts burnished for static-free performance. Capstan removed, cleaned, burnished and re-lubed prior to re-install. Input level and all internal pots cleaned. This machine would be perfect for burning your 8-track collection to CD. Tape speed electronically adjusted with factory 1kHz test tape for perfect reproduction at 1kHz! That is even likely better than when new. Most are adjusted to +- 30Hz, at best! It is also one of the 2 or 3 best recording 8-Tracks we have ever restored. Records great with the following test results after adjusting heads and internal level controls; +2d @ 1kHz, 0dB w/ full bandwidth Pink Noise, and ~0dB with CD Recorded Material! Recording quality using CrO2 tape rivals most of the best Reel to Reel decks we have used. And these tests were done using Radio Shack, Chrome tape that was about 25 years old and had been recorded on already 3 times!!! Looks decent with normal, minor cosmetic wear. All function test fine and everything works GREAT! _____________________________ One of the best performing 8-track cartridge play / record decks we have ever had. This one is an Allied / Realistic TR-880. Following extensive restoration, we recorded from a CD onto a new 8-track cartridge and it sounded as good as a cassette and many Reel to Reels! This machine would be perfect for burning your 8-track collection to CD and also records great. Only cosmetic issues are some light scuffs on the top edge of the face bezel (see photos, above right).
